Cookie Policy
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how ScoreMasters® ("ScoreMasters," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit scoremastersmusic.com (the "Site"). It describes what these technologies are, why we use them, the choices you have, and how to exercise those choices.
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which sets out how we handle personal data more generally and identifies ScoreMasters® as the data controller. Where this Cookie Policy uses terms such as "personal data," "processing," "controller," and "consent," those terms carry the meaning given to them in the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the "GDPR").
By using the consent banner that appears when you first visit the Site, you can accept or refuse the categories of cookies that are not strictly necessary. You can change your choice at any time, as described in section 8.
2. What are cookies and similar technologies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit. Cookies allow the Site to recognize your device, remember your preferences, keep the Site secure, and understand how the Site is used.
We also use technologies that work in a similar way, including local storage (data stored in your browser by the Site or by embedded content) and pixels or tags that may be used by third-party services. In this policy, references to "cookies" include these similar technologies unless we say otherwise.
Cookies may be:
- First-party: set by ScoreMasters® directly; or
- Third-party: set by an external provider whose content or service is included on the Site (for example, an embedded video or map).
They may also be:
- Session cookies: temporary, and deleted when you close your browser; or
- Persistent cookies: stored for a defined period or until you delete them.
3. Why we use cookies
We use cookies to:
- Keep the Site secure and functioning correctly, including protecting our contact and quote forms against spam and abuse;
- Remember the cookie preferences you have set, so you are not asked repeatedly;
- Understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the Site so we can improve it (only with your consent); and
- Allow embedded third-party content, such as our location map, to load when you choose to view it (only with your consent), and allow embedded portfolio videos to load when you click to play them.
We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell your data.
4. Your consent and the legal basis for cookies
Under the EU ePrivacy rules, as transposed into Greek law by Law 3471/2006, and under the GDPR and Greek Law 4624/2019, we may store or read cookies on your device only in two situations:
- Strictly necessary cookies may be used without your consent, because they are essential for the Site to work or to provide a service you have specifically requested.
- All other cookies, including statistics and our embedded map, are used only after you have given your prior, informed consent. Embedded videos are loaded only when you click to play them: that click is your consent for that video, and nothing is loaded before it.
We obtain that consent through our cookie consent banner. Non-essential cookies are blocked until you accept them; refusing is as easy as accepting; and we do not treat continued browsing or scrolling as consent. We keep a record of the consent you provide, and you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
5. The categories of cookies we use
5.1 Functional and strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the Site to operate and to remember your privacy choices. They are always active and do not require your consent.
They include:
- Consent management: Our cookie consent tool (Complianz) stores your preferences so the banner does not reappear on every page and so non-essential cookies remain blocked until you allow them.
- Session and security: Standard cookies set when you log in to a user account or interact with certain features. Ordinary visitors who only browse the Site are generally not given these cookies.
- Form security (reCAPTCHA): Our contact and quote forms are protected against spam and automated abuse by Google reCAPTCHA. We treat this as a functional, security-related technology because the forms cannot safely accept submissions without it. reCAPTCHA may set a cookie and transmit limited technical information to Google for the sole purpose of distinguishing humans from bots. We load it only where it is needed for form protection, and we disclose it here so you are fully informed. Your use of reCAPTCHA is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
5.2 Statistics cookies (consent required)
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how visitors find and use the Site (for example, which pages are most useful) so we can improve it. These cookies are blocked until you accept the "statistics" category. We use Analytics in a privacy-conscious configuration and do not use it for advertising. You can find more information in Google's Privacy Policy.
5.3 Embedded third-party content (consent required)
Some pages include content hosted by third parties, which may set their own cookies once loaded:
- YouTube: portfolio and demonstration videos (for example, in our Selected Works section) are embedded from YouTube. Nothing is requested from YouTube when a page loads. The preview images are served from our own server. A video is requested from YouTube only when you click to play it, and clicking play is how you consent to that. We use the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain, and the player is removed when you close it. Once a video has loaded, YouTube may set cookies for its own purposes. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Maps: our Contact page includes an embedded map to show our location. The map is provided by Google and may set cookies once loaded; it is blocked until you accept the relevant cookie category. See Google's Privacy Policy.
5.4 Marketing cookies
We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, to track you across other websites, or to serve you ads, and we do not sell your data. Some embedded third-party content, specifically our location map (Google Maps), is supplied by an external provider and is grouped under a "marketing" category by our consent management tool. We use this content solely to display the map you choose to load, never for advertising. The map remains blocked until you give your consent.
5.5 A note on fonts
The Site loads its typefaces locally from our own server rather than from a third-party font service. This means your IP address is not transmitted to an external font provider when you view the Site.
6. The cookies in use on this Site
The table below is generated automatically and kept up to date by our consent management tool. It lists the specific cookies in use, who provides them, their purpose, and how long they last.

7. Third-party cookies and international data transfers
Some of the services described above are provided by Google LLC, based in the United States (this includes Google Analytics, reCAPTCHA, YouTube, and Google Maps). Where cookies from these services result in your personal data being transferred outside the European Economic Area, that transfer is made on the basis of the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which Google LLC is certified, and/or on the basis of the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, which provide appropriate safeguards for your data.
These third parties set and read their own cookies under their own privacy policies, over which we have no control. We encourage you to review their policies, linked in section 5 and in the table in section 6.
8. How to manage or withdraw your consent
You are in control of the non-essential cookies on this Site.
- When you first visit, the consent banner lets you accept or refuse each category. Refusing is as straightforward as accepting.
- To change your choice at any time, open your cookie preferences using the "Cookie Settings" link available on the Site (for example, in the footer), and update or withdraw your consent.
When you withdraw consent, we stop setting the affected cookies. Cookies already stored on your device can be cleared through your browser, as described in section 9.
9. How to control cookies through your browser
In addition to our consent banner, most browsers let you view, manage, block, and delete cookies through their settings. You can usually set your browser to warn you before a cookie is stored, or to refuse cookies altogether. Instructions for the most common browsers are available here:
- Google Chrome: support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
- Mozilla Firefox: support.mozilla.org/kb/cookies-information-websites-store-on-your-computer
- Apple Safari: support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-sfri11471/mac
- Microsoft Edge: support.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge
Please note that browser controls apply at the device and browser level, so you may need to repeat your choices on each device and browser you use.
10. What happens if you disable cookies
Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off without affecting how the Site works, for example, our forms may not be able to protect against spam, and your saved preferences may not be remembered. If you refuse statistics or embedded-content cookies, the Site will still function: you simply will not be counted in our aggregate analytics, and the embedded map will not load until you allow it. Videos will still play when you click them, since that click is itself your consent.
11. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for legal or operational reasons. When we make material changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, ask for your consent again through the banner.
12. Contact us

13. Supervisory authority
If you are located in the European Economic Area and believe that our use of cookies or your personal data does not comply with the law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA), which is our lead supervisory authority:
You also have the right to contact the supervisory authority in your own country of residence.
